Danielle Trask
Danielle is the Founder and Director of Connect Rugby League. Having come up with a concept of broadening inclusive Rugby League in Queensland, Danielle approached the QRL in 2021 with her concept and with their support and belief, Connect Rugby league came to fruition. Connect Rugby League is a modified version of the game and also supports true inclusion. Connect programs and workshops will lead in to a competition in 2023. Danielle’s main focus is using the platform of Rugby league to support and focus on the social, emotional, physical and development of players, staff and participants along with promoting a feeling of belonging within each players community.
Danielle is also the founder of Katwalk for Kids Charity, Sunshine Coast Community & Gala Awards, and is editor in Chief of Katwalk Kids Fashion Magazine. She holds qualifications in Telecommunications ( Cert III), Disability (Cert IV), has a Diploma in Beauty Therapy and is currently studying her Masters in Life Coaching, NLP and Cert IV in small business. She has a passion for supporting community and hopes to pave the way for an inclusive environment for all.
Danielle has two teenage children with varying diagnoses who are her inspiration, she loves music, art, comedy, time with her family and of course the sport of Rugby League.
James Hill
2019 won Queensland Open Minds Individual Contribution to Mental Health Award.
2019 won Large Workplace Mental Health Award based on the Mental Health Advocate role.
In 2022 was recognised as a nominee at the Australian of the Year awards in the Queensland Local Hero category for services to community and workplace mental health. Current Ambassador for the Australian and New Zealand Mental Health Association.
Worked with the Yale program for recovery and community health to have a journal article published in the Brazilian Journal for Mental Health.
Advisor for the National Mental Health Commission.
Kristy Bignell
Kristy is currently co-ordinator for the Sunshine Coast Falcons Footy Kidz and has been part of the program since inception. Kristy is currently studying Business Administration with previous experience in retail tourism and retail sales.
In her spare time Kristy loves to go on bush walks, watching rugby league, gardening and having time with her family.
