ABOUT US
CONNECT Rugby League is a game of Rugby League like no other. A fully inclusive sport to promote, a feeling of value within everyone, a sense of community, to promote inclusion, diversity, and connection along with supporting good physical and mental health.
We offer an inclusive program sanctioned by the QRL that will be facilitated initially by NRL & QRL game development teams. Queensland Rugby League and Connect Rugby League have partnered to support the areas of socialisation, self-confidence and belonging through positive mental and physical health strategies using the platform of the team sport of Rugby League. We feel honoured to be supported by disability and industry professionals, including James Hill, who, in 2022 has been recognised as a nominee at the Australian of the Year awards in the Queensland Local Hero category for services to community and mental health.
Our passion is to assist the journey of individuals aged 16+ years helping them move more successfully into adulthood and full independence.
WE AIM TO CREATE:
WHAT WE DO
We feel incredibly lucky to be approved by Queensland Rugby League and be chosen as their partner as they move to further support Inclusion in Rugby League in Southeast Queensland and across the state.
In 2022 Connect Rugby League will offer our initial pilot program of 8 weeks, with spaces being very limited. This initial program ensures our program is fully supported and committed to our players, participants, and staff so that we are ready for full release in 2023. We wish to have all aspects of training and support for social, physical, emotional, sensory, and physical health covered for our implementation of further workshops, programs, and new competitions in 2023.
Right here on the Sunshine Coast is where it will all begin.
